Scottish Art - Paintings of Scotland:
Standing Stone Circle
by D. Bruce Bennett
Stone Circle Shadows
In this eerie painting of Scotland, winter moonlight softens the black night sky, whitens frost-covered grasses, and enables standing stones to cast midnight shadows. Stars dot the sky, while stones at the farthest reaches of this standing stone circle barely show above the grasses and rise of the hill.

Existing only in paint on hardboard, this stone-circle Scottish Art is heavy on the blues, ranging from the light blue moonlit grasses to the inky black-blue of the largest shadow. That shadow leads your eye straight up the slight hill, on which the stone circle stands, to the two largest standing stones and then on to the moon caught between these two standing stones.
Do you need a piece of original artwork to give some presence to a predominately blue room? Want something that speaks to your Pictish roots? If you were of a mind to, you could certainly let your imagination run wild while contemplating Stone Circle Shadows - Scottish Art, done in oil-painting style.
Just picture this picture of Scotland in a coordinating frame of deep blue and silver (or pewter), hanging on your wall, with you seated opposite it, traveling back in time. In your mind, of course. (We don't have Diana Gabaldon's gift of time-traveling quite down yet.)
