Scottish Art - Highland Games Posters:
St. Andrew's Piper at Sunset
by D. Bruce Bennett
2003 St. Andrew's Society of Maine 25th Highland Games
Commmemorative Art Poster
This sunset scene is an electronic version of original artwork commissioned by a New Jersey firefighter, not long before the St. Andrews of Maine festival committee contacted him. The firefighter wanted a combination of Bruce's popular Callin' the Brothers (we've sold almost ten different versions altogether), with a Celtic cross in the foreground and a sunset background instead of the pastel backgrounds Bruce had previously painted.

This happy marriage of ideas also appealed to the St. Andrews Society of Maine, and Bruce adapted it for the advertising of their 25th games.
Our commemorative art poster incorporates more color into its design than that used in the festival's advertising materials and is printed on archival quality, semi-gloss, photo paper with archival quality inks. It may be matted and framed or simply framed since we've incorporated an ample, one-inch border into the design.

Want to relive your experience, with the sun setting over the stately pines and sandy beach of Thomas Point Beach in Brunswick, as the final strains of the massed bands die out?
Just click the VISA button below. Now's as good a time as any to begin your Bennett Highland games poster collection because we have less than half a dozen left. We're they're gone, they' gone; no reprintings are planned.
Games officials and volunteers: thinking you'd like a classy image like this for your event? You're in good company. The Jacobites Pipe & Drum Band of Sarasota, Florida, decided they really liked this piper silhouette, but they wanted a bit more of Florida in it. They sent a Sarasota sunset photo to Bruce and commissioned him to paint Sarasota Piper, which they used for all their 2006 concert advertising materials including the side of their bus van!
