Scottish Clan Chief

Head of His Clan

A proud Scottish clan chief looks straight at the viewer, his eyes sending a not-to-be-messed-with message of warning. This picture of Scotland's finest – with his traditional Highland shirt and just a hint of a generic Scottish tartan – could be any clan chief or wannabe chief.

Bruce has painted this Highland warrior, with the "bark still on" as a sample of his portraiture. Note how the stark black background shows off this warrior's flowing white beard, white shirt, and ruddy complexion. Everything has been kept as simple as possible so that the viewer focuses on what's really important: the chief's eyes and the sheer force of his presence.

Though Head of His Clan isn't for sale, we've shown a cost (below) to give you an idea of what a similar portrait of this size and quality would cost. (We've also shown the cost with and without the handmade, solid walnut frame.)
