Scottish Art - Paintings of Scotland:
Lone Piper Silhouette

by D. Bruce Bennett

Callin' the Brothers, V

A lone piper silhouette plays on a craggy summit with Scotland's proverbial rains in the background. Shades of blue, green, and pale yellow give this image a ghostly, ephemeral feeling. It was large to begin with and when increased in size further by a mat and frame, it makes a powerful statement to all who enter the buyer's home. "A Scotsman lives here. Make no mistake, laddie."

Paintings of Scotland: Lone Piper Silhouette

As you can see from the number in the title, Bruce's lone piper silhouette has been a very popular image. Each one has been slightly different in size, coloration, and the heavy-rainstorm effect, which is created by the very unpredictable and un-duplicate-able salt technique Bruce likes to use.

Know a highland piper who'd like to have something similar on his walls? A picture of Scotland with a different color of background? This same silhouette-piper style of Scottish Art, but a little smaller? Check our commission process, then contact us and let us know what you'd like to give the bagpiper in your life.
