Scottish Art - Highland Games Posters:
Highland Sword Dancer
by D. Bruce Bennett
2002 Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival
Commmemorative Art Poster
This ever-popular, forever-anonymous Highland Scottish sword dancer from "Happy Feet" is printed on archival quality, semi-gloss, photo paper with archival quality inks. This classy piece of Scottish Art may be matted and framed or simply framed since we've incorporated a nice white border into the design.

After some deliberation in December 2001, the Longs Peak festival committee chose Bruce's Happy Feet to advertise their 2002 festival. We then designed this art poster is an upscale memento to commemorate their games - one of the largest of the U.S. highland games.
About 60,000 attended the 2002 games, and many took advantage of the chance to buy this poster at our booth. We have less than half a dozen left, which you may buy on-line now, though it probably would've been more fun to buy at the festival in Colorados beautiful Rocky Mountains. When they're gone, they're gone, folks. No reprintings planned.
Below you can see a larger rendition of the elegant, art-poster-like type we chose for the text on this very collectible Highland games poster.

In 2006, the Kansas City Highland Games officials commissioned Bruce to recreate this Highland sword dancer in the Henderson tartan, for all their 2006 games advertising materials. If you're a games official or volunteer yearning for a fresh, original "look" for your games advertising materials, check out the process of commissioning art for your event.
