Scottish Art -
Paintings of Highland Pipers, Drummers, Majors

by D. Bruce Bennett

It just doesn't get much better than that 30 minutes at the end of an exhilarating day, when the massed bands play "Scotland the Brave" at your local Highland games, does it? Well, actually, it does. And it can happen right in the comfort of your own home.

Hang some show-stopping original artwork of Scottish pipers and drummers . . . er . . . like the ones below, on your den wall. Crank up that CD you bought at your last Highland games. Break out a wee dram of that Glenlivet you've been saving. Settle down - aahhh - and take it all in.

No wind. No rain. No heat. No humidity, No crowds. Just the best of Scottish pipe-band-ism. Sound enticing? Then browse our Highland pipers and drummers below; just click on the pictures for more info.

None of these turned your crank? Then take a look at our other pipers, drummers, and majors.

Seven of our eleven black-and-white prints are pipe band members. At half off their original low prices, they're about as low a price as you're likely to find for Scottish art of pipers, drummers and majors. Next up from our bargain-basement, black-and-white prints are the three bagpipers in our color prints collection, reasonably priced between $30 and $35.

Still no pipers, drummers, or majors that meet your specs? Bruce has been photographing pipe bands at Highland Games for 17 years. He may well have something in his photo library from which he could work to create a commissioned painting for you. Or maybe you have you in a pretty decent photo, and you're thinkin' "portrait of myself"?

Our Scottish Art commissions are more reasonable than you'd guess and simpler than you'd think. A cursory look at our prices of these Highland pipers and drummers will give you a ballpark idea of cost, and we're nice folks - really - to work with.
